For the cream base, Michelle used OPI GelColor “My Vampire Is Buff” on square-shaped GELevate Soft Gel Tips. The color perfectly matched the palette of the halftime show: Bad Bunny also wore an all-cream ensemble, while Cardi B, Karol G, Alix Earle, Jessica Alba, and other celebrity guest stars wore complementary neutrals.
Cardi’s Super Bowl ensemble, styled by Kollin Carter, featured a short flouncy skirt (custom-made by Candice Cuoco), a corseted Zimmermann bustier, bell sleeves, and raw-ruffled edges. “I usually begin my process when I receive the outfit sketches from Cardi’s stylist,” Michelle told Vogue. “Her look is regal and romantic, so I wanted her manicure to reflect that.”
Maybe it’s because Valentine’s Day (and coincidentally, the Wuthering Heights premiere) is right around the corner, but celebrity beauty has taken a romantic turn. From the flurry of romance waves on awards season red carpets to the Margot Robbie-led gothic glam trend, February’s leading looks are straight out of a dark fairy tale.
Looking to spice up a boring beige mani? Cardi’s latest makes a strong case for statement decals. Functioning as jewelry for her fingers, Michelle told Vogue that the brooch-like encrusted jewels “bring in contrast and dimension to the manicure without overpowering the look.” Consider this your sign to dream up your own over-the-top romance mani to beat the winter blues.
