“Chicken Shop Date”’s Amelia Dimoldenberg Is Starring in a Rom-Com

Do you want a rom-com that’s The Idea of You meets Notting Hill meets Trainwreck? Yeah, I do too. And fortunately, Amelia Dimoldenberg is making it happen. The viral celebrity interviewer, who rose to fame with her “Chicken Shop Date” series on YouTube and now regularly graces red carpets as both journalist and guest, is making a movie about a reporter who has an unexpected romance with a star. And yes, she’ll be in it. We are so seated.

According to Variety, the movie is about “a by-the-book journalist whose carefully planned life unravels when a routine celebrity interview unexpectedly turns into a romance that makes her question everything she believes about love.”

Here’s everything we know about the as-yet-untitled film.

Amelia Dimoldenberg is making her film debut

Anyone who has watched her charming series about going on casual “dates” with celebrities knows that she has the charm and presence to be in front of the camera, though she hasn’t technically done much acting. She did appear in a recent episode of HBO’s Industry, though it was more of a cameo than a role; she played a reporter credited as “Vivian Poulet-Magasin,” which is French for “Vivian Chicken-Shop.”

No word yet on the rest of the cast, but you know who she has amazing chemistry with? Andrew Garfield.

She is also a producer on the film.

Who is behind this flick?

No director has been announced but, per Variety, Sarah Heyward is writing the script for Amazon MGM Studios’ Orion Pictures, and Gloria Sanchez Productions will also produce.

Heyward has the rom-com chops, having written for shows like Girls, Modern Love, and Nobody Wants This.

When does it come out?

As far as we can tell, cameras haven’t even started rolling, so pump the brakes, it’ll be a hot minute.

This post will be updated.
