Comme Si’s La Classica Shirt
You might be familiar with Comme Si’s most pleasing, colorful socks that launched the brand into the fashion sphere back in 2019. While the prices for these covetable but everyday staples inch towards the higher end of what the average consumer might be willing to spend on a humble basic, the shirting developed by the label sits at a price point that falls right under the $300 sweet spot. What sets these crisp button-down shirts apart from comparable high-street essentials labels is that they’re made in Italy from 100% Italian cotton poplin and finished with delicate mother of pearl buttons. Small but mighty details in both the design and construction, like the box pleat and back yoke of the shirt, make it a cut above the rest of your standard button-downs. The fit is generous; roomy in shape while still fitting true to the shoulder, but nothing you’d call oversize. It’s a cut that makes styling both tucked in or worn out achievable. My personal favorite of the lineup? The “Grecian” blue. To me it’s that perfect traditional blue you’d find in menswear tailoring, reminiscent of an old women’s shirt I once saw by The Row.
