Colleen Renee Brockman (December 4, 1967 – December 24, 1982) was a teenager who was murdered by Gary Ridgway in Seattle, Washington, on December 24, 1982. She was Ridgway’s fifteenth known murder victim.
Background
Colleen was born on December 4, 1967, in an unknown place. During her childhood, she lived with her father and brother. For unknown reasons, Colleen ran away from home. She possibly became involved in sex work.
Disappearance
Colleen was last seen in Seattle, Washington, on December 24, 1982, leaving a downtown motel. It’s unknown what happened to her afterward.
Discovery
Colleen’s remains were discovered on May 26, 1984, in Pierce County, Washington. Her cause of death couldn’t be determined, but her case was deemed a homicide. She was identified a month later after her father recognized descriptions of her dental work.
Aftermath
It’s unknown if Colleen was connected to the Green River killings while she was missing, though she was named the next victim of the killer after she was identified. She may have been connected to the killer in early June 1984, before her identification.
It wouldn’t be until 2001 that her killer, Gary Ridgway, would be apprehended. He was convicted of Colleen’s murder, along with the murders of forty-eight other women.
