Pros: Extra-smooth and stretchy fabric
Cons: No adjustable straps
This Amazon workout set is super-smooth and buttery soft, so if you’re looking for a seamless yoga outfit, this may be your perfect match. The fabric is stretchy with medium compression, and it’s great for low- or medium-impact workouts. The halter top bra features removable pads and the leggings are designed with scrunch detailing right above the tailbone. While there are no adjustable straps, the fabric has enough stretch to it that it should work for most people with no issues.
My review: I wasn’t expecting to like a halter top workout set, but I genuinely did! I felt fully secure in the top, and the shelf bra and band at the bottom of the sports bra were truly comfortable. The cute detailing in the back makes your butt look nice, and the seriously stretchy fabric is a plus. Because of the stretch, my usual size worked—but if you might want extra room, especially in the top, I recommend sizing up. I could see myself wearing this to a workout class and then throwing a long-sleeve top over it to run errands after.
Material: 75% nylon, 25% spandex | Size range: XS–XL | Colors: 15 options
What else I tested
After testing, I would not recommend this set from Suuksess. The fit of the top was weird, especially in the shoulders, which made it uncomfortable from the moment I put it on. The top was super-cropped and had no real support—not even a built-in elastic band or shelf bra to keep things in place. I wore it for low-impact cycling, and it was barely passable. But for any workout during which you need to move your whole body (pilates, barre, strength), you’d be in instant trouble if you lift your arms to shoulder height or above your head. The top has no elastic to help you feel secure. The leggings also kept rolling down at the waistband. It’s not something I’d ever feel comfortable wearing to work out again, even in the comfort of my own home.
How I tested
After scouring Amazon for the most highly-rated workout sets—I’m talking hundreds of labels, including Amazon’s own Amazon Essentials brand—I took into consideration three main things: price, customer reviews, and sizing. I ended up testing a dozen best-selling workout sets—all under $100, and wore them for a span of three weeks. I tested them out while running errands, wore them to my workout class, or while lounging at home.
I evaluated the following:
- Fit and feel: If the set was true to size since we know brands can be extremely inconsistent.
- Fabric: We checked if the sets had enough moisture management during sweaty workouts, if they pilled after washing, or if the fabric was sheer in any areas
- Bonus: Did the workout sets have any convenient features like pockets on the leggings or adjustable straps.
