Kate Hudson has been feeding us early aughts hair inspo since her ’03 Andie Anderson days, and she’s keeping with the theme in 2026. This time, instead of long blonde waves, she’s bringing back the short, wispy shag.
Hudson debuted her new style at Costume Designers Guild Awards in Los Angeles on February 12. She wore a silk lilac Valentino gown (with frosty eye shadow to match), a statement diamond choker, and freshly layered cut. While one of her go-to stylists, Marcus Francis, revealed that one of Hudson’s recent bob looks was faux, the proof-of-chop is in her wispy ends this time around.

While we’ve been seeing lots of blunt bobs this winter, Hudson’s cut ditches the sharp lines for soft feathering. Her collarbone-length hair is cut into waterfall layers with curtain bangs, giving her face-framing pieces a cascading effect. Rather than turning her layers under to add more body, Hudson’s are pin-straight. (Think Y2K rock-star girlfriend over the viral princess blowout trend.)
