2026 Spirit Awards Winners List

The 41st Film Independent Spirit Awards are underway Sunday afternoon at the Hollywood Palladium as the organization recognizes the year’s best in indie movies and TV.

Film enthusiasts can tune into the live show on YouTube, both on IMDb’s channel and Film Independent’s, beginning at 2 p.m. PT.

This year’s ceremony, hosted by SNL alum Ego Nwodim, features a Best Feature film category that includes Oscar Best Picture nominee — Netflix’s Train Dreams, which is up for four total Oscars including Adapted Screenplay, Score and Cinematography.

At the Spirits, it’s joined in the marquee Best Feature race by Janus Films’ Peter Hujar’s Day, which leads all nominees this year with five; IFC’s The Plague; A24’s Sorry, Baby and Roadside Attractions’ Twinless.

Netflix leads all platforms with 18 nominations, followed by last year’s noms leader A24 with 10.

Other Oscars-Spirits crossovers to watch for today: Rose Byrne in Best Performance for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, Adolpho Veloso in Cinematography for Train Dreams, Come See Me in the Good Light and The Perfect Neighbor in Documentary and The Secret Agent (Brazil) and Sirāt (Spain) in International Film.

Last year, Anora won a trio of Spirit Awards — Best Feature, Best Director for Sean Baker and Best Actress for Mikey Madison — all categories in which the pic would end up repeat winning at the Oscars.

This year’s ceremony continues an evolution for the Spirits, which used to take place the the day before the Oscars. It has shifted nearer to the middle of awards season more recently, and this year marks the event’s inaugural ceremony at the Palladium after years on the beach at Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.

Follow along with this year’s winners list below. Keep checking back as we add to it.
