Happy belated birthday Millie Bobby Brown! The Stranger Things and Enola Holmes star turned 22 yesterday, and spent it with her husband Jake Bongiovi. Together, they shared an early breakfast at Sadelle’s in Soho. M.B.B opted to scale back her usually maximalist red carpet stylings in favor of the more laidback Manhattanite vibe (have the Bongiovis been watching Love Story, by chance?) albeit with a Gen-Z twist.
The couple, who share a young daughter, coordinated in denim and easy separates. M.B.B wore An oversized leather blazer (of the school of her Stranger Things co-star, Winona Ryder, at her ’90s fashion peak), with a black v-neck knit, blue acid wash, wide-leg cords, and black leather boots, as well as a pair of oval shades. Her chin-length bob is still that recently dyed coppery shade. Bongiovi, meanwhile, opted for a gray-green crewneck knit with a white tee underneath, indigo jeans, and cream and green adidas leather sneakers.
They hit all the pressure points of the ’90s minimalists that would have once traversed those same Soho streets, but Gen-Z-ified. Millie swapped of-the-era straight-leg jeans for cord-denim pants with a more of-the-now barrel shape.

The style playbook of Millie Bobby Brown is most palpable in her red carpet appearances: across the last press tour for Stranger Things, she was experimenting with a darker, more sensual press tour glam. This saw her dress up in a lingerie-inspired Ashi Studio gown, and a more classic style of Hollywood glamour via a plunging, sheer-illusion sparkling gown by Bronx and Banco. When she’s taking things more casual, she’ll cozy up in her UGGs, Toast outerwear, and AllSaints leathers.
