Sophie Turner Wore the Ultimate Naked Dress for Her 30th Birthday

Ever since Carrie Bradshaw slid into Mr. Big’s car in that itty-bitty nude minidress, the naked dress has been something of a fashion world staple. Sophie Turner is the latest to embrace the sheer trend while ringing in her 30th birthday. The naked dress has been making quite the comeback recently—with a modern update in the form of a few sparkles, naturally.

The Game of Thrones actor shared a carousel of images from her birthday bash on February 24 in which she showed off her b-day look: the Irina halter dress by Retrofête—a barely there halter minidress seemingly made of nothing but rows upon row of delicate silver sequins.

Turner added even more sparkle to the look with a silver bag, silver metallic heels, and dangly sequin earrings.

“So this is 30….. I think I like it so far 💫 🪩 🕺,” she wrote. (See the photos here.)

Last month Turner spoke to a journalist from AP who was also about to turn 30. “We’re gonna be grownups!” she laughed, adding, “I’m actually really excited for it…everyone says it’s gonna be the best years of our lives. No more trying things out and failing. We’re going to know ourselves. We’re gonna to walk in with our heads clear. I feel good about it.”

Turner is set to have a big year as she turns 30. Fresh off the back of the hit Prime series Steal, Turner stars in the upcoming reboot of Tomb Raider as Lara Croft. She also stars in the upcoming horror film The Dreadful—a film that will see her kissing her Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harrington.

Sophie Turner is only the latest celeb to make the case for the return of the naked dress. At the BAFTAs last weekend, Odessa A’zion rocked an ethereal gothic sheer black lace gown on the red carpet. Meanwhile, Tate McRae opted for a diaphanous sheer white gown at last year’s VMAs. And, of course, Chappell Roan’s faux-nipple Mugler moment at the Grammys is still very much in the forefront of our minds.
