“Piper, nooo! Tsunami! Buddhism!”
You could hear the crowds screaming these quotes to Parker Posey as she hit the 2026 SAG Actor Awards red carpet last night: iconic lines that her character Victoria Ratliff delivered on season three of The White Lotus, of course. It’s this titular role that earned Posey a nomination for outstanding performance by a female actor in a drama series. (The show was also nominated for best ensemble.) “It feels great,” Posey tells Vogue of the recognition yesterday evening. “To be recognized by my peers feels sweet and supportive. It’s been nice to feel like part of a community.”
Her awards nod was well-earned: Almost a year since the finale’s air date, Posey’s genius performance as the pilled-up, privileged housewife lives long. And, of course, the actor is no stranger to crafting memorable characters—from the highly-strung book editor Patricia in You’ve Got Mail, to her underrated turn as the fame-hungry Jennifer Jolie in Scream 3—but Posey admits that starring in the popular Mike White series was unlike any acting work that she had ever taken on before. “It was a soulful experience for me,” says Posey. “There were many challenges—but you want to be challenged. If it’s easy, then it’s not interesting and you’re not working.”
Speaking of working—her red carpet fashion for the big night indeed werked. Styled by Leith Clark, Posey leaned into a whimsical and glamorous aesthetic that spoke to the night’s formal dress code, which was all about celebrating 1920s and 1930s glamour. (And she did all this while recovering from wrist surgery, no less.)
The star donned a pink Gucci chiffon gown by Demna, complete with a bowed neckline and voluminous feather-trimmed skirt. “This pink is feminine to the hilt,” says Posey of the final look. “It is in your face ‘soft,’ and there’s a hint of humor and also elegance and surrealism.” She finished off the outfit with sparkling Messika jewels, and a retro-chic beauty look by hairstylist Jason Rail and makeup artist Jo Baker.
