EXCLUSIVE: Alex Baskin, the man responsible for turning Vanderpump Rules into a Sandoval-shaped phenomenon, is turning his attention to Love Thy Nader.
The reality series starring Brooks Nader and her sisters was renewed for a second season at the end of last year.
Baskin’s 32 Flavors, which continues to produce the Bravo hit, which now has a new cast, as well as series including The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and The Valley, will produce the second season alongside Walt Disney Television Alternative, Jimmy Kimmel’s Kimmelot and James Dixon’s Smoking Baby Productions.
Baskin has become something of a reality star whisperer as the boom in the traditional reality series returns. The genre has had something of a revival with series such as Hulu’s The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives and influencers such as Alix Earle moving into the space with a Netflix show.
Hulu and Freeform are hoping that Baskin can sprinkle some of that magic on Love Thy Nader, which follows the gregarious Nader, a former Sports Illustrated models known for her outlandish love life, and her sisters Mary Holland, Grace Ann and Sarah Jane.
It follows the sisters in New York City, set against the backdrop of Soho lofts and fashion campaigns, exploring the question of what it means to “make it” in the city, having originally come from the Louisiana bayou.
The first season explored the group moving in together, launching a fashion line, go on vacation in Miami, deal with health problems and startup issues and breakups.
Brooks Nader is a new kind of tabloid star; she previously dated Dancing with the Stars’ Gleb Savchenko and has been romantically linked with the likes of Tom Brady, The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives’ Dakota Mortensen and Shaun White as well as two tennis stars – Jannik Sinner and Carlos Alcaraz during the U.S. Open. She recently shut down rumors that she was dating Ben Affleck.
The second season is expected to premiere later this year.
Baskin will serve as executive producer, along with Jimmy Kimmel, James “Baby Doll” Dixon and Brandon Panaligan.
The Nader sisters are repped by WME, Dixon Talent, Inc. and by Leigh Fidler, Chief Brand Officer of Nader Sisters Inc. and Co-Founder of Privy PR.
