Sinners, Frankenstein, Zootopia 2 and Sirât were among the film winners at the Motion Picture Sound Editors‘ 73rd Golden Reel Awards, which were handed out Sunday night at the Wilshire Ebell Theatre in Los Angeles.
Adolescence, Alien: Earth and Étoile took TV awards during the Patton Oswalt-hosted ceremony, which honors for outstanding achievement in sound editing, sound design, music editing and foley artistry in film, TV and gaming. See the full winners list below.
Warner Bros’ smash hit and leading Oscar nominee Sinners was the only double winner Sunday, taking prizes for Feature Dialogue/ADR and Music Editing.

The sound editors group feted longtime Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy with its 2026 Filmmaker Award, which is given to an person outside the sound community whose career has demonstrated a great appreciation and understanding of the impact of sound editing. Kennedy, who is an eight-time Oscar nominees, stepped down from her Lucasfilm post in January after 14 years.
Supervising sound editor Mark Mangini, a two-time Academy Award winner for Dune and Mad Max: Fury Road with four other Oscar nominations, received the Career Achievement Award.
MPSE made news last summer when it banned projects from Golden Reel consideration in which generative AI is used to create elements for the final soundtrack
Founded in 1953, the Motion Picture Sound Editors is a global community of sound artists spanning more than 40 countries on six continents. The group is dedicated to elevating the craft of sound and recognizing the indispensable role sound artists play in storytelling.
