You wanna be startin’ somethin’ early?
Lionsgate said today that its Michael Jackson biopic Michael will have limited early-access screenings in premium formats on Wednesday, April 22, ahead of its wide release that Friday. Tickets for the one-night-only showings go on sale at 9 a.m. PT/noon ET on Wednesday, March 11.
The King of Pop’s nephew, Jaafar Jackson, stars in the titular role of the pic directed by Antoine Fuqua. Here is the logline: Michael tells the story of Michael Jackson’s life beyond the music, tracing his journey from the discovery of his extraordinary talent as the lead of the Jackson 5 to the visionary artist whose creative ambition fueled a relentless pursuit to become the biggest entertainer in the world. Highlighting both his life off-stage and some of the most iconic performances from his early solo career, the film gives audiences a front-row seat to Michael Jackson as never before. This is where his story begins.
Nia Long, Juliano Valdi, KeiLyn Durrel Jones, Laura Harrier also star in Michael, with Miles Teller and Colman Domingo.
