Happy Birthday, Bad Bunny, and Thank You for These 5 Iconic (Acting!) Performances

In one sense, Bad Bunny is ageless and evergreen; in another, arguably truer sense, the Puerto Rican rapper and singer turned 32 today (my exact age, not that it matters! We’re clearly very compatible, though!)—and we would be remiss not to celebrate the hallowed date of his birth with a roundup of some of his best performances.

To be clear, these aren’t Bad Bunny’s top musical performances; there are simply too many of those to compile. Instead, we’re looking back at some of Benito’s most memorable onscreen appearances, from his Saturday Night Live hosting gigs to his role in Darren Aronofsky’s 2025 film Caught Stealing. Ahead of his already much-anticipated starring role in Porto Rico—rapper René “Residente” Pérez Joglar’s directorial debut, reported to co-star Viggo Mortensen, Edward Norton, and Javier Bardem, with Alejandro G. Iñárritu executive-producing—revisit some of his most endearing moments onscreen so far.

Everardo Arturo “Kitty” Paez on Narcos (2018-2021)

Bad Bunny’s appearance on Season 3 of the Netflix series Narcos: Mexico represented his acting debut, and in a surprise to nobody, he nailed it. His character “El Kitty” was based on a real person who was captured by Mexican authorities in 1997 and charged with six counts of directing cocaine into the United States. “Kitty is a charismatic guy who loved looking fresh. He likes nice things, and I can really relate to that!” Bad Bunny told Entertainment Weekly of his role in 2021.
