An Early Fendi Baguette
Making its grand debut in 1997, the Fendi Baguette has managed to maintain It-status for nearly 30 years—an achievement very few fashion pieces can claim. Two years after the bag’s inception, Karl Lagerfeld was already giving it the Karl treatment. This flowery felt iteration from fall 1999 proves that a good silhouette is a blank canvas for any creative director’s vision (just take a look at the latest renditions by Maria Grazia Chiuri, hot off the 2026 runway).
