Although the Oscars red carpet is usually a subdued affair, some actors found a workaround. Renate Reinsve, who was nominated for best actress for Sentimental Value, eschewed Old Hollywood glamour in favor of a minimalist Louis Vuitton dress. Made of a single piece of fabric, the tomato red dress wrapped around Reinsve’s body, creating a hip-high slit.
Gwyneth Paltrow had a similar idea in mind with her pale pink Armani Privé dress. The Marty Supreme star’s gown was made of two structured panels in the front and back, with a sheer, sparkly mesh showing off her flank.
