EXCLUSIVE: Bill Camp (Presumed Innocent), Roman Griffin Davis (Jojo Rabbit), Michael Rispoli (Nonnas), and Jordana Spiro (Ozark) have wrapped on the New Jersey shoot for Operation Fastlink, a new coming-of-age crime thriller marking the feature directorial debut of Jerry Careccio (Serena), who also penned the script.
Plot details are being kept under wraps, but the film is inspired by true events in the DOJ cybercrime case surrounding the FBI’s Operation Fastlink investigation, which targeted the underground movie, music, and video-game piracy “warez” scene in the early 2000s.
Others in the cast include Steven Strait (The Expanse) and Joseph Russo (The Offer), as well as Tyler Aser, Lauren B. Martin, James Mount, and Wyatt Danieluk.
Rob Alicea is producing alongside Tim O’Hanlon under his Velvet Horizon Films banner, and Careccio via Bad Idea, with Paul DeAngelo exec producing.
In a statement to Deadline, Careccio said, “I am so incredibly proud of this cast and crew. The iconic Bill Camp and Golden Globe nominated Roman Griffin Davis lead a powerhouse cast of characters that we aim to be remembered in cinema. The story which features the relationship between the ex-Crime boss Camp and his teenage protégé Griffin Davis is going to have audiences on a roller coaster of emotions as volatile as the Oregon Trail.”
Camp is represented by UTA and Franklin, Weinrib, Rudell and Vassallo; Griffin Davis by WME, Untitled Entertainment and Independent Talent Group; Rispoli by Gersh and Principal Entertainment LA; and Spiro by Kaplan/Perrone Entertainment and Principal Entertainment LA.
