The year is 2016. Taylor Swift steps onto the Met Gala red carpet with an ultra-bleached bob and sideswept bangs—a style we now refer to as Bleachella—and the world goes wild. It was the chop that launched a thousand lookalike bangs (and probably a lot of bowl-cut regrets, too).
Fast forward 10 years to tonight at the iHeartRadio Music Awards. Making a surprise appearance on the red carpet, she came bearing a little beauty inspiration: swooping bangs that feel like a polished, engaged-girl version of that very 2016 look.

Of course, in the world of Taylor Swift, nothing’s a coincidence. For her appearance at the iHeart Radio Music Awards, she hearkened back to the green-and-orange motif that surrounded her latest album, The Life of a Showgirl, in a seafoam-green corseted mini dress, ditching her signature red lip for something more natural and peachy.
