Sadie Sink Celebrates Her ‘Romeo & Juliet’ Debut Channeling Ultimate Juliet, Claire Danes

Before Sadie Sink took up the mantle as Max Mayfield in Stranger Things, she began her career as a theater actor. (And last year earned a Tony nomination for her Broadway run in John Proctor is the Villain.) Last night, she transcended the Upside Down for fair Verona, and made her West End debut in Robert Icke’s contemporary spin on Romeo & Juliet.

After a strong first evening alongside her Romeo, Noah Jupe, Sink celebrated at London’s Quaglino’s. Styled by Molly Dickson, she opted for custom Prada. The ivory dress featured a neoclassical-style silhouette and empire waist with romantic, floral-embellished cap sleeves, and a flowing skirt. She added jewelry by Repossi, too. In many ways, it recalled the pared back vibe and shape of Claire Danes’s costumes as Juliet in Baz Luhrmann’s magical 1996 movie version, more than the Renaissance era of the original play.
