Trevor Astbury and Matt Martin have joined WME as senior partners in the Motion Picture Literary department, based in Beverly Hills. Both coming from CAA, they bring with them several top-tier writers and directors. Deadline first reported that the two would be leaving CAA before the Thanksgiving break and WME has now made it official.
Astbury was previously a Motion Picture Literary agent at CAA, representing a range of top writers, directors and showrunners. He was with CAA for 12 years. Prior to CAA, he was at Paradigm, where he started his career in entertainment.
Joining Astbury at WME will be clients Travis Knight (Master of the Universe, Kubo and the Two Strings, Bumblebee), Angel Soto (Wrecking Crew, Charm City Kings, Blue Beetle), Matt Johnson (Bourdain, Nirvana The Band The Movie, Blackberry), Grant Sputore (Godzilla, I Am Mother), Jon Spaihts (Dune, Dune 2, Doctor Strange), Bill Dubuque (Ozark, The Accountant), Andrew Barrer & Gabe Ferrari (Ant Man & Wasp, Transformers One), Juan Carlos Fresnadillo (Intacto, 28 Weeks Later), Arthur Mintz (Dynamic Duo), Zak Olkewicz (Bullet Train), Gary Spinelli (American Made) and Orlando von Einsedel (Virunga), among others.
Martin also worked as a motion picture lit agent at CAA, where he worked for over 15 years, representing leading writers and directors.
Martin brings with him to WME clients including Josh Cooley (Toy Story 4, Transformers One), John Swab (Fast & Loose, Night Work), Kat Coiro (You, Me and Tuscany, Matlock), Johannes Roberts (Primate), Michael Giacchino (Werewolf By Night, Them), Julius Avery (Pope’s Exorcist, Samaritan), Dan Mazeau (Fast & Furious, Damsel), Ana Nogueira (Supergirl), Panos Cosmatos (Mandy, Flesh of the Gods), Josh Wassung (Predator: Killer of Killers), Ryan Engle (You, Me and Tuscany, Beast), Taylor Materne (Hustle) among others.
