If you’re feeling the urge to cut impulsive bangs this winter, take notes from Alix Earle. The influencer and Dancing With the Stars alum just debuted wispy bangs, and they’re the perfect low-maintenance style to ride out the winter season.
On January 25, Earle shared a closer look at her new hairstyle on Instagram (see it here!) before showing it off at the Jacquemus presentation at Paris Fashion Week. Her cheekbone-length fringe falls somewhere between curtain bangs and short face-framing layers—and can easily be styled to emulate either one.

Unlike straight-across bangs or thick curtain bangs (à la Sabrina Carpenter), which demand daily styling and constant fussing to keep in place, Earle’s style is super versatile. To get the fringe effect, wispy pieces like hers can be blow-dried forward and turned under with a round brush to achieve more forehead coverage and a swooped shape. But for mornings when you can’t be bothered, they can easily blend into the rest of your hair and stay out of your face.
Earle isn’t the only one to try out this trending style recently: Earlier this month, Sadie Sink debuted very similar wispy bangs on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. While Sink’s rendition is trimmed a little shorter, with the shortest pieces grazing her eyelids, the versatility factor is still at play. Not only are these curtain bangs easy to style—since they’re cut to naturally cascade into your other face-framing layers, they’re also super easy to grow out.
