All the Best Looks at 2026 Film Independent Spirit Awards

Awards season is in full swing, and last night saw the nominees for the 2026 Film Independent Spirit Awards hit the blue carpet in Los Angeles. Following the Grammys and pre-empting the BAFTAs, Actor Awards (f.k.a. the SAG Awards), and Oscars (now exactly a month away), the Indie Spirit Awards tends to have a, well, more free-spirited air to it. Shown as much in the independent cinema it celebrates as the celebrity fashions of the night.

After 40 years beachside (and gaining a casual, semi-riotous rep for all the day-drinking amid the sand and surf), the Independent Spirit Awards has shacked up at the Hollywood Palladium. Style on the step and repeat, however, remained fresh and fun. Take Keke Palmer in a butter yellow and cream vintage Dior bustier dress with a scarf-tie waist, or Kate Hudson, who combined all the mid-10s and boho trends by wearing a leathery peplum and balloon pants by Chloé. Bold colors continue to be a Hollywood trend, with Rebecca Hall stepped out in an electric violet-colored Jil Sander dress, Lola Petticrew in a scarlet red tulle creation by Hector Maclean, and Poorna Jagannathan in canary yellow Prabal Gurung. Naked dressing also made its way via Tessa Thompson and Jenny Slate, in sheer black Collina Strada and Altuzarra, respectively, while award-winning Rose Byrne wore a midriff-baring Loewe gown with colorful ruffled shoulders and hips.

Menswear was also kept fresh: David Jonsson opted for a black and red sailor-style jacket by Loewe, while Archie Madekwe revitalized the skinny scarf trend with a matching polka dot tie by Ferragamo.

Hosted by Saturday Night Live alum Ego Nwodim and honorary chair filmmaker Lulu Wang, Train Dreams scooped three awards, while Rose Byrne won best lead performance for If I Had Legs I’d Kick You, and Naomi Ackie won best supporting performance for Sorry, Baby. Adolescence continued to dominate the awards circuit: Erin Doherty and Owen Cooper both nabbed gongs, and the show took home best new scripted series. (Since 2023, the Indie Spirit Awards has adhered to gender neutral categories.)

Some stars receiving accolades were notably absent (Ackie and Cooper included), but the blue carpet was still a sight to behold. Here, see the best dressed stars at the 2026 Film Independent Spirit Awards. And let us know by voting below—who was your favorite?.
