A baby pink-hued candy shop popped up on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood on Tuesday—for one night only. Screen stars and content creators made their way there to celebrate the launch of an all-new Dior Addict Lip Glow Oil and the Rosy, Peachy, and Purple Glow fragrances, joining Dior Beauty for a sugar-themed soirée. Guests were welcomed to pucker up and enjoy a delectable spread of sweets, alongside a peek at the latest formulas.
By 6 p.m., the space was already awash with attendees, who were greeted by human-sized Dior Addict fragrances to pose with. Just around the corner, a dessert-filled room sparked audible gasps. Apothecary jars were stuffed to the brim with M&Ms, gum-balls, and various jellies and gummies, while a DIY canelé station in the back offered custom bite-size cakes with sprinkles, strawberries, and slivered almonds. Everywhere you looked, people were crowded around mirrors, keen to try out the new iterations, which are infused with cherry oil for all-day hydration.
According to Peter Philips, Dior’s creative and image director of makeup, the team was careful not to completely alter the famed lip glow formula—after all, it’s a cult-favorite for a reason. “But for me, it missed something, which was the effect,” Philips explained. “We worked for about two to three years to fine-tune it without changing too much, but giving the possibility to add pigment and different finishes.” The outcome: Two new shine finishes, Sparkly and Glaze, in 16 glossy hues.
Anya Taylor-Joy, a Dior global brand ambassador, was holding court in a fairytale-worthy custom gown adorned with embellishments—her lips shining brightly. Having had VIP access to early samples of the refreshed lip oil, she’s been savoring it for some time. “Your lips can actually take much more of the oil than you think they can. It doesn’t move that much—so you can go hard with it,” she laughed.
