This year’s hottest makeup trend, the blurred lip à la celebrity makeup artist Nina Park, has made its way to red carpets across awards season. First, we saw them at the SAG Actors Awards, where actors, producers, cinematographers, and more embraced the look. And at the 2026 Oscars, the stars are still smudging their lip liner.
“It’s super effortless,” makeup artist Katie Jane Hughes told Vogue at the start of the year. Getting the look is easy, too. Start with “a bit of cream bronzer and really work it into your brush,” she advises. “Then skim that bronzer around the perimeter of your mouth, creating this bronzey halo.”
This softly diffused liner (the antithesis of the sharply lined lips we’ve been craving in seasons past) gives the lips a plumped, ultra-pillowy look. From there, you can fill in with a lipstick shade of your choosing. Tonight, Emma Stone went for a shade of browny-nude for a your-lips-but-better effect (done by Park herself!). But the blurred lip look works when you’re feeling bold, too—Jessie Buckley pulled the look off at both the Oscars and SAG Actor Awards with a beautiful shade of red.
