EXCLUSIVE: Breaking Bad star Dean Norris and The Purge series actress Jessica Garza are among cast in supernatural horror-comedy Dubbels.
Production has recently wrapped on location in the Catskill Mountains of New York with cast also including Marié Botha (The Penguin) and Zak Corrigan (Junction). Jonathan Cruz, Jordan Mann, Steele Whitney, and Jessica Gibbons round out the ensemble.
Writer-director Paul Marashlian is behind the film in which an environmental engineering firm led by Pete (Corrigan) is assigned to evaluate an abandoned ski resort built upon mountain springs. The mysterious landowner (Norris) and his captivating daughter (Botha) pressure the team to bend to their will. Little do they know the springs are cursed and Pete’s clairvoyant wife Gwen (Garza) endures a heroic journey to save husband and his team (Jordan Mann, Steele Whitney, Jonathan Cruz).
Dubbels marks Marashlian’s feature debut, following short Merry Christmas, based on a John Cheever story. Pic is produced by John Shepphird and Andy Clark with cinematography by Neal Brown and casting by Daryl Eisenberg, CSA.
The film is slated for completion and festivals in spring of 2026. Crafts include special FX makeup artist Beatrice Sniper and stunt coordinator Manny Siverio. Kaye & Mills law firm is production counsel.
Breaking Bad and Claws actor Norris starred last year in Netflix movies Carry-On and The Six Triple Eight. Garza’s credits include series The Purge and Penny Dreadful: City Of Angels.
