They’re back! When Bridgerton season 4, part 2, drops on Netflix on Thursday, November 26, Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley will make their long-awaited return as Anthony and Kate Bridgerton. We have an exclusive first look at the beloved couple’s return in which we finally meet their son, Edmund.
If you’ll recall, Anthony and Kate relocated to India at the end of season 3 to spend time with her family and give birth to their baby, who is named after Anthony’s late father. And now, after not appearing at all in part 1 of Bridgerton season 4, Kate and Anthony could’t arrive at a better time.
Take a look at this first-look clip, in which Anthony and Kate are in bed at Aubrey Hall as Anthony is soon to leave for Bridgerton House, where Kate will soon join him.
Showrunner and executive producer Jess Brownell told Glamour last month that Anthony will play a big role in Benedict’s story in the second half. (Probably a good thing, given that Benedict screwed up his “proposal” to Sophie.)
“That brotherly relationship is so primary,” Brownell said. “And I think that the Kate-Eloise (Claudia Jessie) dynamic is one that continues to be really interesting. So those are ways in which we’ll explore it.”
Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley’s arrival marks the first time a central Bridgerton couple has returned to the series more than a season after they were the leads. (They were the the focus of season 2, which aired back in 2022.)
“Johnny and Simone were totally game and really generous with their time to come back,” Brownell said. “I do think that we’re establishing a bit of a cadence with the show, in terms of a season’s leading players being a big part of the season immediately following theirs. And then, beyond that, it’s more about fitting them in when they’re able to and when the story calls for it. I think people will see that happen with leads going forward. That’s necessary with such a large ensemble to move the focus as we go on.”
