Nearly three months after Rob Reiner and wife Michele Singer’s deaths, the actor/filmmaker’s loved ones are paying tribute on what would have been his 79th birthday.
Cary Elwes, who starred in the Reiner-helmed Princess Bride (1978), honored the late Oscar nominee on Friday, after Rob and Michele’s son Nick Reiner was arrested for allegedly killing the couple in their Brentwood home on Sunday, Dec. 14.
“Today would have been your 79th birthday. Still hard to believe you’re gone. Missing you so much,” Elwes captioned a throwback photo of them together.
Last month, Nick entered a not guilty plea on two counts of first-degree murder, ahead of his preliminary hearing on April 29.
Facing life behind bars or the death penalty under the “special circumstances” charges, L.A. County District Attorney Nathan Hochman declared in January that Nick will be found guilty “beyond a reasonable doubt” by a Los Angeles jury.
The 32-year-old Reiner, who has battled longtime addiction and mental health issues, was arrested by the LAPD just hours after his parents’ bodies were discovered.
