Forget the French or Japanese Mani—Hailey Bieber Revives a Classic Style

Nail trends come fast. Just this year, we’ve seen the micro French manicure, Japanese blooming gel, and extremely pink nail art trending. Next up? Hailey Bieber’s very classic manicure, spotted on the Vanity Fair 2026 Oscar Party red carpet.

Bieber wore a custom leopard-print Armani Privé gown for the occasion—and while she typically loves fantastical nail art, the evening’s beauty brief was a bit more subdued: a classic red manicure. Of course, it was done by Bieber’s frequent manicure artist, Zola Ganzorigt (the two of them collaborated on the iconic glazed donut manicure of 2022). For the moment, Ganzorigt made a custom cocktail of OPI shades (one part Big Apple Red, one part Endless Sun-ner, and one part Espresso Your Inner Self) to create a shade she calls “rusty red.”

Red is perhaps the most iconic manicure shade of all time. The nail polish shade was loved by beauty icon Marilyn Monroe (and more recently, Selena Gomez and Kylie Jenner) because there’s literally a shade for every skin tone (and fashion sensibility). Not into Bieber’s bold rusty red take? Try vampy Bordeaux or edgy brick. And if you’re on the market, of course, there’s the viral red nail theory to try out.
