EXCLUSIVE: Director Gary Sinyor‘s (Hapless) rom-com Perfect Wedding Days has finished a six-week shoot in Panama and the UK.
Mattias Inwood (Will) and Leah White (The Christmas Mixer) star as a couple, Dan and Liz, who get married four times (twice on a beach, once in a church and once in a Jewish ceremony) before deciding to elope. Above is a first-look image.
The film also stars Holly White as Liz’s sister Julia, and Joe Dacosta as Dan’s best man, who hook up within minutes at each wedding. Other cast include Gina Bellman as the mother of the bride, U.S. comedienne Erica Rhodes, and Adam Rose. Joe Morrow plays the roguish Sean. Sinyor also brought in local Panama actors Andrea Perez Meana as Dan’s ex wife as well as Arian Abadi and Monalisa Arias for cameo roles.
Pic is financed by exec producer Michael Farrell out of the UK where post has now started. DoP is Luke Palmer. Cavalier Productions is the production company.
The project marks Brit writer-director Gary Sinyor’s first U.S.-set movie since 1999 Renée Zellweger rom-com The Bachelor. Sinyor most recently directed TV comedy series Hapless.
Sinyor, who also served as writer, editor and producer, said: “Mattias and Leah have the chemistry and charisma of the stars of my favourite romcoms. In its bones, Perfect Wedding Days is a mainstream U.S. comedy, rude raunchy and sweet”.
