Gigi Hadid Topped Off Her Butt-Rip Barrel Jeans With a Very Millennial Fall Jacket

Gigi Hadid’s Zillennial is showing.

During a recent outing in New York City, the 30-year-old model born in 1995 combined the powers of adjacent generations to create a casual fall look any twenty or thirty-something will want to emulate. The foundation requires a pair of distressed, wide-leg and a classic millennial piece that’s been making a sudden resurgence on runways: The humble green canvas jacket.

In this case, Hadid opted for a pair of Icon Denim’s wide-leg Poppy Jeans, which retail for $220 and feature a subtle barrel silhouette and frayed rips along the leg and just under the back pockets, though it’s quite possible Hadid added some of those slashes herself. After all, Hadid often takes a hands-on approach to her personal style, founding her own knitwear brand Guest in Residence (which also features prominently in her Gen X boyfriend Bradley Cooper’s wardrobe).

As for her outerwear, Hadid opted for a cropped olive green jacket that hits just below the band of her mid-rise jeans and features a brown shearling collar for extra warmth. It’s pretty frigid in NYC, so Hadid further bundled up with a black scarf (presumably from GIR), pulling her hair back with an embellished white claw clip.

If you replace the barrel jeans with a pair of skinny denim and add some ankle boots, we might as well be back in 2013. Of course, we’re more than a decade along, and Gigi Hadid’s mid-rise barrel jeans keep the look firmly rooted in 2025. The model finished off the look with a sturdy black shoe and a black shoulder bag with gold hardware, though brown accessories would suit the look just as well thanks to the neutral nature of the green coat and denim combo.

The result: An unfussy look that feels both effortless and put-together, making it perfect for lazy dressers that don’t want to leave the house in athleisure or sweats again.
