EXCLUSIVE: Harriet Slater (Outlander: Blood of My Blood), Danila Kozlovsky (The Vampire Academy), and Sabrina Bartlett (Bridgerton) are starring in rom-com musical From London With Love, which has wrapped and is being presented at the European Film Market by new seller Universal Exports Media.
Russian star Kozlovsky, known for series Vikings and movies including The Vampire Academy and Soulless, has directed the project and co-written the script with Mark Aston.
The film tells the story of “a reclusive, tongue-tied songwriter chasing a comeback who falls for a bold and unfiltered first responder. As their connection grows, his songs must say what he can’t.”
The ensemble cast also includes Frances Barber, Nick Moran, Richard Clifford, Assa Kanouté, Nisha Nayar, and Lucas Jones.
Pic is produced by DK Entertainment and London-based Goldfinch Entertainment. Jordan Dykstra is handling sales for Universal Exports Media. Producers are Kirsty Bell and Ben Charles Edwards of Goldfinch, and executive producers include Kozlovsky, Slater, and Phil Mckenzie for Goldfinch.
Outlander: Blood of My Blood and Pennyworth star Slater was recently cast as co-lead in the sequel to breakout hit Fall. Bartlett is best known for S1 of Bridgerton and recently starred in U.S. comedy romance film F*ck Valentines Day.
Kozlovsky said: “This is a story of broken people desperately in need of love. The fear of never finding it, the fear of trusting and loving again.. In their doubts, fragility, fears, sincerity and tenderness, in some ways they are similar to Chekhov’s characters. This film has a lot of love, music, humour and beautiful actors who made this story real.”
“At its core, From London With Love is a feel-good romantic comedy — charming, funny and irresistibly warm. It’s the kind of film audiences go to the cinema for: escapist, hopeful and driven by a love story that really sings,” said Kirsty Bell of Goldfinch Entertainment.
