‘Harry Potter & The Philosopher’s Stone’ Trailer Most-Watched In HBO History


HBO‘s adaptation of the Harry Potter book series is already breaking records for the premium cable network and the streamer HBO Max.

The trailer for Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone got 277 million organic (non-paid) views across platforms in its first 48 hours, becoming the most-watched trailer in HBO and HBO Max history and exceeding the previous record by more than double.

The series based on JK Rowling’s fantasy book series is set to debut Christmas 2026 on HBO and stream on HBO Max.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone stars Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger and Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley.

The series also stars John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, Janet McTeer as Minerva McGonagall, Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape, Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, Rory Wilmot as Neville Longbottom and Lox Pratt as Draco Malfoy.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone follows Harry Potter, who, on his 11th birthday receives a letter of admission to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, opening up a hidden world for him: one of fun, friendship, and magic. But with this new adventure comes great risk as Harry is forced to face a dangerous enemy from his past.

Leo Earley plays Seamus Finnigan, Elijah Oshin as Dean Thomas, Tristan Harland as Fred Weasley, Gabriel Harland as George Weasley, Ruari Spooner as Percy Weasley, Alessia Leoni as Parvati Patil, Sienna Moosah as Lavender Brown, Finn Stephens as Vincent Crabbe, William Nash as Gregory Goyle, Warwick Davis as Filius Flitwick, and Sirine Saba as Pomona Sprout.

Harry Potter and the Philosopher’s Stone was written and executive produced by Francesca Gardiner.
