Tonight, the 2026 Oscars is going to be a particularly exciting evening for KPop Demon Hunters singer Ejae. The South Korean star is not only performing with fellow demon hunters Audrey Nuna and Rei Ami, but she is also nominated in two categories—including for best original song (for their hit track “Golden”) and best animated film. “To get nominated means so much to us,” Ejae told Vogue just a few days before tonight’s grand 98th Academy Awards ceremony. “It’s such an honor, and a dream I never could have dreamt of. I’m trying to make this nervousness into excitement.”
Ahead of the show this evening, Vogue headed to West Hollywood earlier in the weekend to observe Ejae’s very final Oscars fitting. Working with her creative directors Jeffrey Jin and Theo Song, the star landed on a custom Dior look designed by Jonathan Anderson. You could say she was going for gold: The strapless golden sequin gown came finished with black floral feather embellishments, as well as an asymmetric fringe detailing. “I was very specifically saving a golden look for the Oscars,” said Ejae of the look. “I feel like the Oscar statue!”
Trying on the frock and making those final minor adjustments, Ejae shared that her favorite element of the custom gown lies its well-constructed fabrication. “It is beautiful. Jonathan took my breathe away with this,” Ejae says. “The fit is incredible—I look so snatched!” Her shimmering Swarovski jewels also helped her look the part of an A-list Oscar nominee: Ejae wore an 13.4-karat diamond necklace from the label, as well as a pair of 9.4-karat diamond earrings.
As she looked at herself in the final end result in mirror, Ejae admited that she was still feeling a dash of disbelief around attending the Oscars. Though, her custom-made Dior frock certainly gave her the confidence to step into the buzzy night. “Fashion is an extension of yourself, of what you want to express in those important moments,” Ejae said. “Within the past seven months, I’ve changed as a person—more confident, and I’ve learned so much. I feel proud of myself.”
