For her red-carpet appearance at the BAFTAs on Sunday night, Kate Middleton—Catherine, Princess of Wales revisited a dress from her own archive: a dusty pink custom Gucci dress that she previously wore to a Women in Finance dinner back in 2019.
Of course, the royal has form when it comes to rewearing pieces from her own wardrobe, gaining her the title of “thrifty Kate” not long after she married Prince William back in 2011. And so, it should come as no surprise that for a visit to Powys, Wales, on St David’s Day, the Princess turned to her preexisting wardrobe once again.
For the occasion, Kate rewore a burgundy Alexander McQueen by Sarah Burton coat, which she debuted during the Qatari state visit in 2024, along with a matching pussy-bow blouse by Me+Em, and knee-high boots by Gianvito Rossi—both items that she’s been photographed in previously, straight from the Kate Middleton compendium of style.
Burgundy has become a go-to color for the Princess, who also dressed head-to-toe in the shade for a surprise appearance alongside the Prince of Wales at London’s Charing Cross Hospital in January. While Kate tends to adopt a trendless approach to fashion, as shown by her penchant for rewears over the years, it just so happens to be one of the colors of the season.
