Lily Collins Recovers Her Engagement Ring Three Years After It Was Stolen

Losing your engagement ring is a very real nightmare—maybe it slips off of your finger, or you leave it on the side of a public restroom sink. Or, like Lily Collins, you experience the horror that is having it stolen. But there’s some cause of celebration for Collins, who has successfully recovered her ring three years after its theft.

The Emily in Paris actor posted a selfie with the ring on her Instagram Stories yesterday (March 6) with the caption: “Having this home means SO much to us. I’m still speechless [that] it’s back in my finger.” Collins’s ring is a “one-of-a-kind rose-cut diamond,” designed by Irene Neuwirth, and valued at over $80,000.

Collins announced her engagement to writer-director Charlie McDowell, which took place during a trip to Mexico, back in September 2020. They wed in September 2021 in Dunton Hot Springs, Colorado. She wore a long-sleeved, hooded lace gown by Ralph Lauren.

In the years since, they have welcomed one daughter, Tove Jane McDowell.

In May 2023, the actor’s engagement ring, wedding band, and electronic devices were taken from her locker within The West Hollywood EDITION hotel’s spa. The theft was investigated at the time by the Los Angeles County Sheriff, to no avail.

Collins did not share any solid details of how the ring was actually recovered, but credited Joe The Jeweler from downtown Chicago for returning it to her.
