What do you get when you mix real-life royals, Gossip Girl, and polo? Apparently, Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex’s upcoming Netflix show.
According to Deadline, the streamer and the Sussexes are developing a scripted drama show themed around polo, the field sport played on horseback beloved by the British royals. Harry and Meghan, via their company Archewell Productions, are reportedly teaming up with the production duo behind Gossip Girl and The O.C., Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, for an “upstairs-downstairs drama set in the high-flying equestrian town of Wellington, FL, which revolves around the messy dynamics between two rival teams and the families that lead them.”
The Duke and Duchess previously produced the documentary series Polo, which is believed to have helped inspire the new show. It’s supposedly a passion project for Prince Harry, who was once a polo player and still competes from time to time in charity matches, most recently competing at the St. Regis World Snow Polo Championship in Aspen, Colorado, in December 2025, standing in for his friend and going by the name of “Harry Wales.”
This will mark another collaboration between the royal couple and Netflix, following 2022’s highly watched Harry & Meghan, and 2025’s highly scrutinized With Love, Meghan, a lifestyle and cooking show. There had been speculation that Netflix and the Sussexes were no longer working together after news broke that Netflix pulled out as an investor in Meghan’s brand, As Ever, and did not renew With Love, Meghan for a third season, but here we are. And the polo show isn’t all, Deadline reports: the couple is developing other projects under their first-look deal with Netflix.
Their other projects include an adaptation of two romance novels: Jasmine Guillory’s The Wedding Date and Carley Fortune’s Meet Me at the Lake.
So… will Prince Harry and Meghan’s new show be Heated Rivalry, but make it polo? Only time will tell.
