Morpheus Crime Drama Coming To SkyShowtime

EXCLUSIVE: Morpheus is coming to SkyShowtime, a new Polish drama original for the Comcast and Paramount-owned Euro streamer.

Andrzej Grabowski (Pitbull), Kamil Szeptycki (Chopin, Chopin!), Mateusz Kmiecik (Śleboda) and Sylwia Gola (Rojst) star in the series. It follows Piotr, a lawyer who, through a twist of fate, becomes the head of a crime gang previously run by his brother, and before that, his father. Piotr is a regular family man, but as events unfold proves himself an adept crime boss.

LARP: Love, Trolls, and Other Quests production company TFP is making Morpheus, (aka Morfeusz). Filming has now wrapped. No firm launch date, but the series will launch later this year. Maciej Migas directs from Michał Wawrzecki’s script.

Kai Finke, Chief Content Officer at SkyShowtime, said the streamer is committed to generating a pipeline of original series through 2026. “We are consistently expanding our collaboration with the most talented creators to enrich SkyShowtime’s offering with new Polish productions,” he said. “Our ambition remains to make SkyShowtime the place where film lovers find the entertainment they expect; high-quality, authentic, and engaging.”

SkyShowtime operates in the European territories where Paramount and Comcast do not have their own SVOD services. The streamer gets a stream of shiny U.S. dramas from its parent companies including the blockbuster Yellowstone series and its spin-offs. It supplements these with original drama and docs from various territories in which it operates.

One of its biggest originals, Śleboda, hails from Poland, and a sequel series, provisionally titled Pionek, is now in the works. Also in Poland, the streamer brought back cult police drama The Cop (Glina) after it had been off air for 17 years.
