A person has been detained in connection with the disappearance of Savanna Guthrie’s mother, Nancy Guthrie.
The Pima County Sheriff’s Department and the FBI have detained a person for questioning about Nancy Guthrie’s abduction, according to multiple sources like ABC News.
CNN reports that the person being questioned is in southern Tucson, but no arrests have been made.
The latest in Nancy Guthrie’s disappearance comes after images were released of a masked individual seen at her front door shortly before she was last seen.
In a social media post from Monday, February 9, the Today show co-host pleaded for help from the public.
“We are at an hour of desperation, and we need your help,” Savannah Guthrie said as the ongoing search for her mother entered “another week of this nightmare.”
The 84-year-old Guthrie was reported missing at midday on February 1, after being dropped off by a relative at her Tucson-area home at around 9 pm local time the night before.
In a short solo video just put up online, Savannah Guthrie told her 1.6 million IG followers: “She was taken, and we don’t know where, and we need your help. So I’m coming on just to ask you, not just for your prayers, but no matter where you are, even if you’re far from Tucson, if you see anything, you hear anything, if there’s anything at all that seems strange to you, that you report to law enforcement.”
