Ryan Gosling, who hosted last week’s Saturday Night Live, stayed in the Big Apple to return the favor to Harry Styles.
Styles crashed Gosling’s opening monologue last week, appearing in the front row of Studio 8H as the Project Hail Mary star kicked off his aside.
Tonight, Gosling was in 30 Rock to introduce Styles’ opening musical performance as he performed double duty. Gosling presented the One Direction star as he performed Dance No More from his new Kid Harpoon and Tyler Johnson-produced album Kiss All The Time. Disco, Occasionally.
Last week, Styles surprised SNL fans when he started taking notes as Gosling started his monologue.
“Is that … Harry Styles?” Gosling asked. “What are you doing here, man?”
“It’s been awhile, so I wanted to watch, get a feel for it,” the British pop star replied.
The camera then kept zooming in on Styles, slightly detracting from Gosling’s monologue about earth. “Could you listen less cool? It’s like your coolness is becoming an issue,” the Barbie star said.
It’s been a busy couple of weeks for Styles.
The 15th episode of the season, which was also Styles second time as host, saw him opening with a monologue that saw him explain what’s he’s been up to for the last few years as a number of SNL cast members joined to get a kiss. Chloe Fineman and Sarah Sherman failed, but Ben Marshall got a smooch. He also joked about being accused of queerbaiting.
He also appeared in a number of sketches including one as a lawyer alongside Marcello Hernandez as public defender Sebastian Maniscalco, as a doctor in a MAHA-themed spoof of The Pitt, as a cruise ship host alongside Fineman and as a hot fast food employee.
