‘Taskmaster’ Host Greg Davies To Present BAFTA Television Awards

Greg Davies, the British comedian who presents Taskmaster, will host the BAFTA Television Awards in May.

Davies, whose other credits include The Inbetweeners and The Cleaner, will take over from Alan Cumming, host of the 2025 BAFTA TV ceremony.

The awards will be staged at Southbank Centre’s Royal Festival Hall on May 10, 2026. It will be BAFTA’s first major event since the Film Awards, which will be remembered for broadcasting Tourette’s campaigner John Davidson’s racial slurs.

Nominations will be unveiled for all competitive categories across the BAFTA Television Awards and BAFTA Television Craft Awards on Tuesday at Midday local time. Expect a strong showing for Adolescence, the Netflix series that has dominated awards season.

Davies said: “I see the whole event as an opportunity to wave a flag for this beloved medium and, with the exception of one commissioner, two execs and a co-star that I have personal beef with, I will do everything I can to ensure it’s a night of warm celebration for all.”

Emma Baehr, executive director of awards and content at BAFTA, added: “His sharp humour, warmth and energy will set the stage for an unforgettable night honouring the very best in British television.”
