This past week, the fall 2026 collections have stomped down the runways of New York Fashion Week—all the while, celebrities on the red carpets have been posing in their own striking designs. It has been a jam-packed few days for star sightings, with A-listers like Angelina Jolie, Teyana Taylor, and Bella Hadid all stepping out for various events and premieres.
The best dressed of the week? It was the notable names who leaned into strong, sculptural looks. Whether it was the sheer constructions or the fitted corset bodices, it was all about slipping into frocks that enhanced the body underneath.
There was plenty of approaches to the naked dressing movement. In New York, Anne Hathaway hit the Ralph Lauren show in the designer’s black, high-neck sheer gown, complete with a shaggy stole. In Paris, Jolie attended the premiere of her new film Coutures in—yes, couture. The nude-effect Givenchy by Sarah Burton gown was covered in silver sequin embroidery.
Architectural silhouettes also turned heads on the step and repeat. At the Costume Designers Guild Awards in L.A., Jodie Turner-Smith opted for a Marc Jacobs funnel neck coat-dress—in cobalt blue, a trending hue of the season. Taylor also delivered drama in a red-hot Tamara Ralph gown, the architectural bodice fitting almost like a plaster mold to her figure.
As for the more stealthy winning look of the week? That would go to Sarah Pidgeon, who channeled Carolyn Bessette-Kennedy in her chic black leather Aflalo trench. (If you have not yet watched her in Ryan Murphy’s Love Story, go watch it now.)
