Last night, awards season continued with aplomb: the 2026 NAACP Image Awards in Los Angeles honored this year’s crop of excellent Black performers and artists across film, television, music, and literature. The 57th annual ceremony, which took place at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium, was hosted once again by Deon Cole, with the likes of Halle Bailey, Regé-Jean Page, Chase Infiniti, Miles Caton, Regina Hall, Ryan Coogler, Sterling K. Brown, and more presenting. The awards gathering was themed “We See You,” celebrating “Black creativity, excellence, and humanity across every space where our stories are told.”
Ryan Coogler’s Sinners swept the night—entering the ceremony with 18 nominations and scooping 13 awards, including best picture, Michael B. Jordan for best actor, and breakthrough performer for Miles Caton. Some of the night’s biggest accolades also included the Chairman’s Award, presented to the iconic Viola Davis, and Colman Domingo who received the President’s Award. The ceremony also inducted Salt-N-Pepa and DJ Spinderella into the NAACP Image Awards Hall of Fame.
Others who came out on top included Wicked: For Good’s Cynthia Erivo for best actress in a motion picture, 9-1-1’s Angela Bassett for best drama actress, and Sterling K. Brown of Paradise for best drama actor. On Friday, A$AP Rocky took home the Vanguard Award for Fashion at the NAACP Image Awards’s Reception & Fashion Show, while Sinners’s costume designer Ruth E. Carter picked up best costume design.
The fashion was as fabulous as we’ve come to expect from the NAACP Image Awards: Wunmi Mosaku in creamy pink and aubergine Christian Siriano, Teyana Taylor in a sculptural Ashi Studio couture gown, Colman Domingo in an impeccable, triple mustard Sergio Hudson coat and roll neck situation. Then there was Chase Infiniti in posey pink feathers and fuchsia gloves by Tamara Ralph, and Halle Bailey in a slinky, poufy-collared Stephanie Rolland couture dress.
