‘The Hunting Wives’ Season 2: Everything We Know About the Cast, Plot, and Possible Time Jump

The FaceTime skit was very Sophie-and-Margo-coded, but don’t expect their characters to be in each other’s good graces when season 2 picks up. Here’s everything we know about The Hunting Wives season 2.

When will The Hunting Wives season 2 premiere?

No official date has been announced, though we’re hoping for a Summer 2026 release, given that the first season premiered on July 21. Netflix promises the show is “coming soon,” so hopefully the streamer will keep its word.

The good news is that The Hunting Wives is officially back in production as of November 19. “Sophie, Margo, and Margo’s wig are back in production on Season 2 of the hit series The Hunting Wives from Lionsgate Television and 3 Arts Entertainment,” Netflix announced in a press release.

How many episodes will there be?

Season 2 will return with eight episodes.

What will season 2 be about?

At the end of the first season, Sophie killed Margo’s brother in self-defense after discovering her lover was Abby’s killer all along (more details on that over here). Clearly, season 2 is going to deal with the fallout of all that—but they may have to kiss and make up sooner than you’d think. Here’s the official season 2 logline, per Netflix:

At the start of Season 2, Sophie and Margo are on the outs. But soon enough, old secrets and new foes force them back together. As they play their dangerous games the question arises. Are they the hunters or the hunted?

For her part, Snow hopes that Sophie doesn’t forgive Margo too soon. “I would love nothing more than for Sophie to have a little bit more guidance and to not be manipulated as easily, because once you find out your girlfriend is a murderer, I think things change a little quickly,” she told Glamour in August. “But it does put Sophie and Margo on even ground in a lot of ways that I find very interesting to explore, because now Sophie is a murderer as well. I’m going to be interested to see how that dynamic plays out, and I’m hoping that she doesn’t forgive Margo and it takes a lot more to get them back together.”

Will there be a time jump?

Back in August, Cutter was thinking about hitting fast-forward, though she doesn’t want to jump too far ahead. “I think we’d do a little bit of a time jump—not a year, but a time,” Cutter told Variety. At the time, she was also unsure who might be next season’s killer or victim(s), telling the publication, “I don’t know whodunit yet or who got done!”

Who will be returning?

While several of the characters from season one are dead, six of the show’s returning stars were confirmed to return right away. On November 19, Netflix announced three more actors who will be reprising their roles. Here’s an updated list:
