EXCLUSIVE: Jacquie Katz is departing CAA where she has been for 15 years, 11 and a half of them as an agent in the TV lit department, most recently based in New York.
Katz is staying in New York as she is switching careers — she is leaving CAA at the end of the month to pursue a Master’s degree in social work at New York University.
Having first joined CAA in 2010 as an assistant in Los Angeles, Katz was promoted to agent in 2014. She served as Co-Head of TV Lit from 2017-2019 and relocated to New York in 2021.
Katz represents such well known television writers, directors, producers and comedians as Dan Erickson, Alissa Nutting, Pamela Adlon, Amber Ruffin, Desi Lydic, Emily Kapnek, Jake Schreier, who crossed over from features, Kate Herron, Jennifer Kaytin Robinson, Jonathan Spector, Marla Mindelle, Miki Johnson, Gabe Liedman, Heather Anne Campbell, and Asher Perlman.
Throughout her agenting career, Katz has been an advocate for women behind the camera, especially female comedy writers and directors. Her client Ruffin (Late Night With Seth Meyers) became the first Black woman to write for a network late-night talk show.
